Default Portait of Jackson

I was asked to do a portait of Stonewall for a benefit. One thing I have starting doing a lot of is taking pictures to see where I a and what I still need to blend or to detail.

I thought you all might like to see the photo whihc was taken 2 weeks before his death and the place when I am now.

Without using the pictures I find myself over cutting or undercutting where I need to. And since I am a work in progress , suggestions are always welcome.

The pic shows a need for a lot of blending and to relive the center bridge a bit more so that will be the next step.

Very good Ash.
No suggestions from me. Looks like you've got it under control.

Looks good Ash. Maybe the eyes are a little squintier on your carving but will look great when you are finish.

Maybe someday I will try a portrait and let yopu critique it eh?
I think you have capture 'ol Stonewall' for sure.

I kept tring to figure out why his face looked so narrow to me , this should correct it !

Looks great. I have a painting of Jackson's mill over my fireplace. Like to see it when you get it finished.

Are you carving the hair with a "V" tool?

Thanks Bill ,

Yes all the hair work is "V" tools and knife.

Just finished the left side , the eye and started the undercuts. Time to call it a day , but here is the update .
