Default Pocket full of carvings.

My wife has been in hospital having some surgery this week, so I have spent the week either in waiting rooms or in her room while she recovers. She is doing fine and hopefully will be home tomorrow. I prepared for this though.... I took several knives, some small blocks of wood and lots of ideas.

My granddaughter has had me carving "pets" for her over the past few months, so I made her this squirrel family and then, I had this idea for an image of my Great Grandpa, and knocked up a model of what I plan to carve in a larger size. This one is only "pocket size" , but turned out okay. Momma squirrel is 3" tall, baby is 1 1/2" and the Captain is 4" high. All are in Butternut.

Those are very nice Bob. I guess butternut does hold detail when when carved small, especially when carved by an excellent carver...Tom H
