Default Peter Rabbit as a baby.

My wife and I were invited to the first birthday party of the beautiful little daughter good friends of ours. Not a lot of time before the party on Saturday, but enough for me to turn out a special piece for Addison, a very special little girl. I just hope I can finish it in time, started last night by glueing up four pieces of Butternut to make it thick enough and began roughing out today.

It's coming along better than I expected. No pattern, just an idea, Mrs Rabbit with Peter, in a rocking chair. Wish me luck.

Bob

Default Looks great so far,

I`m impressed at how fast some of you folks can carve. Looking forward to seeing the piece completed...Bruce

Bob,

If I didn't like you so much, I'd hate you!

This is so adorable. Knowing the other rabbits you've carved, I can't wait to see the finished piece!

I'm still trying to visualize how you even carved out that rocking chair.

She'll be tickled to receive such a gift. Impressed to see you carve everything together like you did...with the chair actually incorporated into your carving.

Finished the detailing and burning and applied a coat of sealer, it's still wet as the phots will show. Paint tomorrow. I'm happy with it now, I had to re-do the eyes, they looked too scary, now they are gentler.

Thanks for the encouragement folks, I hope she likes it.
