Smile pendants - for the brave woman

these pendants started as exercise, for carving beads, it was such an eyeopener to me, when mark explained to andy "caress them gently into shape", wow, that's how it is done !! thanks for saying that, mark, i really love carving them now, they not want pop off anymore :-) ...and the caressing is useful in so many places, not just beads.... and the method allows any size, the one i used so far was only good for producing beads of the size you have a gouge for... on the dragon head, the beads are just 2.5 mm, so 10 of them go into one inch, ... cute is it not ?... and carved with a #2,5mm only :-) .... i hope you enjoy...

Doris, what an industrious challenge, very unique and quite cute. I'm afraid my big old fingers could not handle such a small project.

hi cliff, thanks :-) ... ah, i not hold them in fingers while carving, i put them with 2-sided tape on a board, so they are nicely fixed, and i can carve... yes, but you are right, the size is a problem though, in my case for the eyes, i carved the smaller details with a loupe...

Doris,
what a great idea and a wonderful project. I always love to see what you will do next. I have christened my one granddaughter, the Warrior Princess because of her personality....I think I need to make her something like this.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Wow Doris. Your one industrious lady!! From Mary Poppins to a flower relief to pendants I'm kinda jealous it takes me months to carve one thing. Mark is a good teacher isn't he. Nice pendants well done.

That looks like a nice diversion from your regular carvings Doris. I expect they are popular. You did a very nice job.
