Default Pele Goddess of Volcano

This is the first one, made of Koa.....and I am glad I am making a few more before I start on the wood that I am commission to do. 15 inches high. Wood has a lot of beautiful grains. But the figure, I do not care for....I will not put her arms in the flames, there are two many flames and her shoulder and arms bigger, I cut to much off..... I put her in red back ground to show the color of the lava....but out in the sun you can see the colors of the Koa better,.... which one do you like? She is finish with danish oil.

Di
They are all beautiful, but I like the one in the Sun best. Just my opinion.

Hi DiLeon hope all is well, I like this one! yes the shoulders look to be alittle narrow for the head but not bad. Koa is beautiful wood, I've never have carved any, looks like you can get good detail in it.
your freind

I agree with the others, the detail shows much better in the natural light.

Very artistic in concept and completion! I like the red background better......seems to enhance the "volcano theme" !
