Default Panel done!

I now have the panel as far as the carving part. Now to add the final finishing!

Looks real good Cathy. What kind of finish are you planning? Tom H

I decided not to paint but to use briwax and a sealer. I have really put my heart into this! It will be golden oak and will have a antique look to it. I just have to get my nerves up to do it. Thanks for looking Tom.

Question Re: Panel done!

Hi Krum,

Very nice carving. I was wondering where do you get briwax and exactly what kind of sealer are you planning on? Thanks.

Great relief carving Krum. Its like your looking through the trees. I'd be curious to see a profile shot. It amazings me how relief carvers get so much depth perception out of such thin wood.

The panel was 2 inches thick and 29 inches wide and 33 inches long. I'll have to post a side view. I haven't gone to find the briwax but I'm sure hardware stores will carry it. Also the sanding sealer Pittsburgh Paints I was told carries the dry sanding sealer. It's nice to hear that the panel is getting the look effect I was hoping for! Thanks for looking and I'll post the side view and finally panel pictures.

panel looks good, like the leafs and branches around the edges. I am away to start a carving of a stag jumping a fence for an art gallery.
