My chainsaw bears got a home at the fornt door and I started some owls. The large owl is a copy of one of my small carvings, it is not quite done yet the head is a little to big. The smaller owl I just did today I am pretty happy with it I need to touch up the paint a bit. The next one will have its head turned to the side. I really like chainsaw carving! |

I am now using a carving disc installed on my grinder to remove some of the big stuff. It also saves the abuse on my mallet and tools...but seeing the work you've been able to accomplish with a chainsaw, I'll have to investigate further. Trouble is my neighbours may not approve as I live in an urban area so noise is an issue. Your doing great work there. Patrick |

I am green with envy. I'm still waiting to get a chainsaw. The entranceway is enchanting with the carvings lining it, and I have to ask, did you carver the door? It is all wonderful work. The new owls are very fine as well. Lots of charactor shows in them. Congrats on a very successful new outlet. Thor |

Great job on all. Looks like the sawdust is getting pretty deep too! Ron

The door I did make. The carvings in the door are kind of a cheat, I drew the images up in adobe illustrator and machined them on the panels with my CNC router for my business some of the images were availible clipart. Thank you all for the encouragement. Brian Last edited by brianh; 01-10-2007 at 02:13 PM. |
