Well,Gang, I think I have reached it! Someone else could have had this carving done in no time but it took me over a year.. Health problems etc.. Really? What age does one quit carving.. I did a lot of research on pandas for this one.. I even bought the DVD " Ultamate Pandas" This one on his back is suppose to be about eight nonths old.. All they want to do is play all day and are on their backs most of the time playing. They are not eating bamboo by this age so they feed them a pablum and bamboo cakes.. The China Earthquake in 2008 was in the Panda region. China is loaning the Pandas out and when they reach a certain age they are to be sent back to China . So Santa has adopted a couple.. Grin... I am not too happy with this carving as I can see quite a few mistakes .. I still tend to make the head to big. Any suggestion for the next carving will be surely appreciated.. and I hope I can still put some thumbnails up. Oh, I pegged the bottle in his hand and had a a time making it look right so don't look too close.. Ha.. Charlotte

I love to see how great carvers are so humble. I could have ten years and I would not be able to carve like that.......

Ah heck I say the age to stop carving is after you kick the bucket.... it takes me three times longer or more then the average person to carve anything!...plus I drop things, stab myself cause of bad grip do to arthritis, and it hurts to carve. But it keeps my mind busy, and I do not go around with the poor me, I am crippled so bad. Heck look at these hands, fingers growing all different directions and some do not shut...., they do not function right but I carve anyway. Just keep going no matter what....old age is not a reason to stop carving....just an excuse...smile. Di

When you reach one hundred, you might be too old Charlotte, until then keep carving. That is one beautiful scene. Your painting is exquisite, and that little panda is having too much fun. Love it, Tom |

I agree with everything that has been said If there is an old age limit - you're far, far from it.
