| | Noahs Arks Just finished two Noahs Arks. The larger Ark has pairs of animals that are between 1 1/2 and 5 inches long and finished natural (for the most part). The other Ark is titled WHITTLERS ARARAT. The animals with this Ark are between 1/2 and 2 inches long. These two Arks are going to a seniors creative arts show. Then I'll probably give the big Ark away. Tom H

| | Re: Noahs Arks Very, very nice Tom H, looks like a lot of time and caring went into these two arks. My favorite of the two is the Whittlers Ararat it has a more sculptural look about it. Both are wonderful!

| | Re: Noahs Arks I think you did a great job on both, small charters are rough to carve so they are identifiable, and look like they are suppose to you did great in that particularly well...
I might try the same for my grand children as the way your creatures are made make them look pretty durable for child play, I been worried about leggs and ears breaking off and making sharps on my animals,
thanks for showing your work... its sure to win the prize.... |

| | Re: Noahs Arks Thomp, You are right! after many trials the design of the animals are "purty" much child proof. And these arks and animals seem to be magnets to children (and adults) to play with. Thanks, Tom H |

| | Re: Noahs Arks Both are really nicely done. I think the Whittler's Ararat is depicting a scene not often tried........all the animals DEPARTING the ark. Most representations are of boardings. Neat concept!

| | Re: Noahs Arks Thanks Thomp. My Noahs Arks and animals are intended to be played with. I have donanted many to doctors offices and childrens hospitals. Kids like to play them, as I do too. I tell my wife that I'm dusting them. Thanks again Tom H |

| | Re: Noahs Arks Thanks Kathy, The Whittlers Ararat is carved from 170 year poplar boards salvaged from an old flax mill. Kinda of a mixture of abstract and reality. Thanks again. Tom H |

| | Re: Noahs Arks Very nicely done! That is a great deed in donating them for many to handle, imagine, and enjoy! Good for you!!
I don't think I've ever seen a Noah's Ark with all the animal's marching down the mountain like that. That's neater than peanut butter 'n jelly!
Thank's for letting us enjoy them! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
