Default New Relief Project

Here's a few pictures of my latest project. It's 16in. long by 10 3/4in. wide, one inch thick basswood. I still got a way to go on the roughing out.

Hi Dylan, looks like your off to a great start. I like the way you didn't totally outline the margins. Something I keep forgetting to do with my reliefs.
Will be following along with much interest. Is school out AL. now?
Kathy

Dylan I look forward to seeing the finished project. I've been thinking about dipping my toe into the relief well but haven't gotten that brave.

Whatsthat, what your looking at is one end of the Oakachoy covered bridge. Which was quite a landmark in this area till it burned some years ago. I made the design from a ten year old picture that we took the one time that we went to see it.

Kathy, I normally end up outlining the border as your can see in this up date picture. I've aways liked the ones that don't have borders and the carving just fades away. But that type is lower then the style that I like to do. Their on year around in this area. I think that their out, don't really know.

Sue, as long as you keep it simple relief is not really hard to do.

Thank you all for your comments.

Dylan

Here's today's progress picture. I've pretty much got everything roughed in now.

Tarik, thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing how you go about it.
