| | Re: new cotton wood carveing Neat carving. We don't have cotton wood bark in our parts. Would like to try that style of carving sometime.

Very nice job. The finish really brought out the detail. Looks great!

| | Re: new cotton wood carveing Mark very nice job. I love gnome homes. A couple of comments:
For the shingles try to undercut the flap of the shingle more and tapper them to one side (all to the same side) gives the allusion that they are tucked under the shingle above them and under the one to the right or left side, whichever you choose.
For the Rocks also undercut them more. A dremmell comes in handy or a foredom but one word of caution, the dust is dangerous, be sure you use a mask. I will try to post an update tonight so that you can get an idea of what I am talking about above.
I relally love your windows and the detail of the wood siding on the house. Your use of the natural shape of the wood is excellent.
I think your project is excellent and you should be proud of it!

| | Re: new cotton wood carveing Hi Mark, great to see someone carving one of these houses in cottonwood. Your an inspiration for me to do one also at some point. I have a lot of cottonwood around where I live. It's Fremont cottonwood what is yours? I really like the work you've done on this.
