Well, where to begin they're all wonderful. Your ebony and ivory spirit is just wonderful--that is some interesting wood. How was it to carve on? Please let us know when you figure out what type it is. I love the fireman and santa you really know how to paint these characters. Good Job!

Retry! That large wood spirit is just fantastic ... so are the others but the beard work on the large one really stands out. The painting on the santa is also very good. The blushings is perfect. Very nice job on everything.

Hello and thanks for the comments!
Kathy: The wood on the ebony & Ivory is fairly hard and doesn't detail quite as good as the Sycamore, which is a little harder. I do wish I knew what it is. I may post a picture of the bark here and see if anyone can name it.

Susan: I am working on my beard and hair techniques, it does show up better on the larger carving, but it is the same on the smaller carvings as well. I also am trying to get better on the painting, not that great yet but getting getter!
Thanks again for the feedback!

Gary, I really like the texture and coloring a lot. YES, do a 'What Type of Wood Is This' or 'Name This Bark'. I bet someone will know!
