| | New cane, Golden Eagle Just finished this cane today. Have been picking away at it for a month now, off and on. Can't remember what the wood is called, an African hardwood, orange and red in colour, very hard. Left it natural, except for some burning to highlight parts, and it turned out okay. Not sure if I like the handle or not, it turned out a bit small for my hand. Eyes are glass. Pretty thing!

| | Re: New cane, Golden Eagle It has a very intense look about it. Pretty wood. I've never seen anything with those colors in it before. It really works well for the bird.
Thanks for showing it to us.

| | Re: New cane, Golden Eagle Nice looking eagle, Bob. The wood looks like it might be Paduak - an orangish colored wood...

| | Re: New cane, Golden Eagle Took a look for the reciept, the wood is called: Chaktekok
Looked it up online and they say it's a Mexican hardwood. Well, I'll be! Took it for a test drive this evening, it works fine!
