I always liked that little rule. Another is to run your finger from your eyebrow to the top of your ear. With those two rules you'll never forget where your ears belong in case one happens to drop. However, as our earlobes seem to lengthen as we age I'm not sure just how accurate it is.

Yep! THat was some response! Hopefully, it was taken in a positive manner as that is how it was meant!

This might help a bit. I agree the bottom lip is to big, but also when you carve a mouth if you look at some mouths you'll see that the ends of the mouth are dead center of the pupil of the eye on eathier side. That would make a big difference but overall exellent form just work with the porportion of the features. Well thats my opinion and I ask you to look at my work and if you see anything I can work on please tell me. Critisizim only makes you better. May God bless you with all your carvings.
