Default NA Indian WIP

I got inspired by all the NA Indian carvings North Wind (Vince) has been posting to try my own...and I understand Colin P. is up for the challenge. Come on Colin, I haven't seen one of your carvings for a while.
Anyhow, this is the start. So far he looks like someone resembling King Tut. I don't have a clue yet what I'm going to put around his head. I like the buffalo headress Feb put on his - we'll see. His bottom lip looks a little inflated in the photo and the chin could be chiseled some more. It's still very early in the carving so I welcome suggestions and critiques. I'm using a peice of 12 inch basswood.

Patrick

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

Hey Patrick, the carving looks great so far, and I'm sure it will continue to grow to be excellent as usual. I have one problem, how the heck do you get black and white pix in this day and age?

I'm a carver, not a photographer
The black and white is probably the result of the exposure...I'm a terrible picture taker. If you look hard there is some color on an old Lee Valley tool (the only one) in the photo. I typically use a black background - something I learned here - to help bring out the detail.

Hey Patrick, sorry buddy, I rechecked and sure enough there is a slight color showing. I did't blow the pix up when I looked at them and that's why I didn't see it. I wasn't complaining, I really wondered how you got black and white pix these days. I wanted to take some but my camera only takes color.

Cliff - no apology necessary....I wish I did know how to get a black and white shot with a camera.

Doris - now that your finished with your other carving...how about it. Your great with faces so try a NA Indian.
