Thanks everyone. I just got back from "Carvers"...our local carving and coffee shop. Had a chance to show my piece to my instructor and he has me making quite a few changes ie. the cheek bones, the lips, etc. I'm always amazed at his insight and wisdom. We never even got to the wolf head so I'm on my own for that area . I'll try to share another pic once I make his suggested modifications.

Patrick, Did he do the changes himself or told you what to do do?

Keith, my instructor, wouldn't make it that easy. He points out what can be done to either correct or enhance an area needing attention. I sometimes try saying "I messed up, could you please fix it for me". His response is typically "that's looks fine, just do the same on the other side"....in otherwords, he has held my hand long enough and figures I need to learn from my mistakes - and mind you, I make a few. He can usually tell if a person needing extra help and may carve on one side of the face leaving the other side untouched.

That is COOL Patrick, I was hoping that was how he did it and not doing it himself. But, also, you can learn by watching also.

That was one of the things I had to learn in Scouts is not doing it for the boys but instrut them how to do it. Sometimes, I beat my head against the wall on a couple but then, I was proud of them for accomplishing a goal that they couls meet.
Kind of like my learning the wash technique, Asking and receiving suggestion, but in the end, I have to do it myself. Not one for having someone do things for me.
BTW, Your NA looks great and waiting on an update.
