| | My version of Lynn Doughty’s saddle First off let me thank Lynn Doughty for the pattern and procedure. Attached are a couple pictures of my current project. The most difficult thing about this little project has been locating the correct size of horse shoe. I ended up having to order them. At this point the saddle still needs painting, then Deft satin sprayed, and then the leather ties and girth straps added. I'm in a holding pattern right now. I painted the saddle a couple nights ago and I'm now waiting for it to dry. Just prior to painting, I took it to the faucet and washed it with a scrub brush totally saturating it with water. Then I toweled it a bit and then paint. It’s been setting over the floor air vent now for two days. It’s always a big question as to how long to wait before applying the Deft spray. Sometimes I think I need to invest in a moisture meter?? Myron |

Your carving looks great! Just a tip I've read here before, try using a hair dryer to speed up the drying process. Others have mentioned success in using it, so I guess it just might help you, too. |

| | Re: My version of Lynn Doughty’s saddle Job well done. I am always interested in seeing what others come up with off of someones, tutorial. Looks like you done Lynn justice.
As for drying, Send it to Hi Ho, well on second thought don't. It is so dry out there he would probably try to wring the water out of it. |
