Default My Version of the Crow Mother Kachina

Hi all everyone my buddy Mottles asked me to post a little WIP of my Kachina Crow Mother. She is carved from a curved cottonwood branch. I have been using mainly gouges and a Denny carving knife. The first pic is the roughing stage. She is going to be more of a contemporary style of a Kachina

She's looking good. I like the curve, it brings the carving alive.

Thanks Lar I think the curve does give it some added movement also. Here is the carving with the work I did on it today. I have completed most of the details on her. I still have to add the feathers to her head and then paint it. I plan on leaving some of the natural wood colors.

Hi Sharon spent some time on her feather head dress. Then I found a crack (The joys of found wood).
Here she is with the head dress on I'm going to have to wait till I repair the crack before I glue them in. Then the painting will be begin yipee
