Default My first "REAL" attempt at carving

This is my first real attempt at carving anything other than a cane or walking stick using only a knife and some chisels/gouges. It started out as the Oakman from Susan's tutorial but I think by cutting the wrong things off and being a begginer, I made it my own LOL anyways here is the progress so far. Critism is welcome, I have big shoulders

P.S. I really have no idea how to add a photo to a post either , so I just put it as an attachment , Hope that is ok.

I'm no expert on them, but that is an interesting take on woodspirits.

You might want to lower the nostrils a bit to bring the nose out a bit more, and maybe define the lower lip a little more as well. I like how you worked an oak leaf into the beard.

Good work.

I like him! Nice work! I'd call him a Green Man.
When I clicked on the link, it was a page I could draw on and change. I moved the pencil just a little and it asked me if I wanted to save the changes. I said, "no". Not sure why it let me "draw" on it.
Again, nice carving!
Wade
