I am very reluctant to post this but...I have to be a good sport and start somewhere. As soon I finished my little buddy here, I wanted a re-do. LOL! I did have fun and learned so much about my tools and wood in general. Thanks to all of you, I am gonna keep practicing until I am satisfied with the outcome. |

Now why would you be reluctant to post that? You have made an excellent start. There isn't anything wrong with wanting a do-over either. Everybody is their own worst critic. Keep carving and keep posting.

Your bear it totally cute!! As for being satisfied after you carved him,heyyyy I've never carved anything,I totally was satisfied with! Keep up the great work is all I can say for you for you did very nicely on this one. Wow, Catbird, you certainly have nothing to hesitate about. That's more than a nice carving. If that's your first, I'd say you';ve got natural talent hidden in those hands of yours.

Pretty darn good for your first carving, mine looked like a red pointed stick. My wife has it hidden away somewhere and I hope she forgets where. You done really good for your first carving you should be proud. Mel |
