Default Mr. Peanut & a new Knife

I was inspired by the character Tom Ellis did a while back but thought I would use the pattern below for my carving. I initially was going for a one dimensional face on a 3 dimensional character. Not sure what I was thinking as he is going to be a flat faced carving. Maybe once I paint him he will look better. He will eventually have arms and hold a cane and have crossed legs.

I was the winning bid on Tom's super Ebony knife with Turquoise bear inlay, just received it today. Boy its a beauty and feels so comfortable in the hand. Maybe some of Tom's magic will rub off on this carving.
Comments or pics of similar carvings always welcome. Lar

Lar, you can definitely see where Mr Peanut is headed. Will be curious to see him with arms and legs. Paint will bring him to life.
By the way,,,,,, Nice knife.

Tom

Not exactly sure how to proceed with these arms and legs, beginning to think I should have carved him from one piece of wood. So I thought I would try making them out of clay to better visualize how to carve them. This is the results. Not really happy with the hand of the arm holding the cane. Does it need a thumb on top. Doesn't look quite right. That arm's elbow is probably too high also. Maybe if I lowered the elbow the hand would look more natural. Comments welcome.

Lar, me thinks that hand is in a twisted position. Try holding a stick and stand in front of a mirror.
