Default Mountain Man finished??

What do you think, are his eyes better now? I took him outside to photograph so I wouldn't get too much glare from the flash.

The tung oil really brought up the color and woodgrain, I put one very light wash of Burnt Sienna over just the painted part of his eyes. The piece had a bit too much shine so I gave it a light coat of Deft Satin Finish. The painted color of his eyes match (I think) exactly with the light and dark colors of the wood....beautiful wood....thank you very much Art....you really do have beautiful cottonwood bark!! Deborah

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like him! The woodgrain is really beautiful in the piece, it showed up well in my full size photographs but pretty much blurred away when I sized them for posting. His nose it really neat since it's the most 'out of the wood', lots of grain circling back from the tip! I really do love the natural look of the wood, such a difference from all my painted pieces! Thanks again for the compliments! Deborah

Callyne,
He's absolutely gorgeous. I don't have the words to describe how beautiful I think this great old man is.

Callynne,

Your Mountain Man is excellent! What you did with the eyes is perfect--it brings him to life!

Whatever you did, keep doing it!

WOW!

Ahhhhhhhh Deborah -- that's just INCREDIBLE !!!

Think about how you would have felt if someone had showed you this carving 12 months ago. Imagine what you'll be doing in 12 more months.
I can't think of anything "better" but, somehow, I bet you do.
Congratulations, Deborah, congratulations.
