Very nice work, I love the carving. Nice use of the coloring while keeping the natural finish! Great job.

Wow!!, Nice job on the carving and I really like the eyes and the light coloring in the cheeks.
What wood did you use and how big is it if you don't mind my asking? Mike

Mike: Thanks. This is basswood. Measures 9" x 4.5" x 2.5". Really nice piece of wood from Heinecke.

Bart, Mark and Greg: Again, thanks for your kind words. I pretty well followed Mark's instructions on the finish and I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Chuck, your carving turned out awesome. I really like the way the finish took. Thanks again for your participation in the tutorial, it was very much appreciated. I am already preparing for the next on line tutorial, "Carve a Mtn. Man Walking stick/Cane".

Use Orange Glo to clean older carvings that has had an application or two of BLO. Makes them look like brandy new. For real.

Sorry Lynn, Ya can't stamp out the use of BLO. BTW, it was nice to see your Civil War carving, It was really nice. The Bishop's invited us to their home and gave us the grand tour of their carving they have,

Personnaly, I don care for the smell of BLO, but once in a while, nothing else gives the effect I want. I have sprayed Deft satin finish over the blo and it helped but really, if you get down to it, any carving will gather dust, even ones under glass, it just takes longer than those that are not under glass.
