| | Morel mushroom man On another thread I mentioned to Colin that he should do a face in a Morel mushroom, along with the others he was doing. This is my feeble attempt. Of course Colin uses a chain saw, and his are....well, you know how great his are. Tom H

Wow what a concept I just love what you have done with the morel. Do you mind if I give one a try in a larger carving? What kind of wood did you carve it out of? how big is it? What did you use to make the holes in the morel.
Really nice carving my friend where were you when I needed you

| | Re: Morel mushroom man Colin, I mainly carved the Morel mushroom man in response to your efforts. You could do it so much better. This little one is out of a basswood scrap 3 inches high. The holes were made with a carbide burr. I am sure the tip of a chain saw would work...Go for it! Tom H |

| | Re: Morel mushroom man Thanks Colin and Kenny, I have made lots of walking staffs with the Morel Mushroom carved on the top. They are quick and easy. I just finished a curved top of a cane that is a Morel Mushroom. I would like to see Colin carve a large one in his unique style. Tom H |

Were those shrooms in your yard the edible kind? They are one of my favorite foods. Just afraid to eat wild ones as I don't know the good ones from the poison ones.

| Probably not. I wouldn't have eaten them anyhow--I had just put lawn fertilizer/weed killer down a few weeks ago--go figure! LOL But that big white one would have made a nice pot of mushroom soup. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
