Default More Toys for Grandaughter!

This is what kept me busy for the last two weeks. A set of Lincoln Log type building logs and a finger Joint box to store them in. There are a total of 130 or so pieces including logs, support pieces, gable ends and roof planks. All are pine and the box is from 1/2" pine with 1/4" pine ply for the top and bottom which is rabbetted in.

The long logs are 12" long, the medium ones 6" and the shorte ones are 5". Roof planks are 3/16" thick x 3/4" wide and 12 1/4" long. Gables are 8" wide and 3" tall.

Thanks for the offer Al but I don't need patterns for something like this, I wil just make it up as I go, and most likely by the time I will be making this I wil have lost the patterns.

Thanks! I used to make toys for my niece, but she grew out of the toy stage, and our grandaughter came along just in time to keep me working on them. This summer when they visited I made up a simple log cabin for her with not even a door and she had loads of fun putting that together and taking it apart so I thought I'd try a whole st for her for Christmas.....now I just have to wait. She'll be three in January....what an age!

What a really great gift Al! Did you make the finger joints on the table saw? They look nice and tight. Also, what finish are you going to use on these?
