| | Mongolian Woodspirit I haven't posted a pic of a carving for a while so here is a woodspirit I've been told looks like a Mongolian. I tried braids for the first time, and they didn't turn out too bad for first attempt. The lumbardi poplar seems to add to this carving as it has several colors in the wood as you get deeper in the log. It's not my favorite wood to carve as its pretty soft and stringy but I picked it up for free from a neighbor. He stands about 4.5 feet tall and has a light coat of tung oil, which doesn't absorb very well with this type of wood.
