Default Mill Update

Hi everyone. I know I have been pretty quiet here lately butI have been busy. I haven't had much carving time but am planning on having more now. Here is a update of the Mill project that Ash made the pattern on wood for me. I have allot more to do just wanted to give a progress report. It feels like to me that I still need more definition of the right hand side of the mill the porch area. I have just started laying what I think is the water wheel and the water shoot. I also have to detail the trees and haven't done much with any detail yet other than some rock. Let me know what you think good or bad I need all the sugestions I can get.
Ron

Ash Katy say's she needs a picture of this if you have one!

It's beginning to look good, Ron. I think all the window sills and trim could be thinned down by about 1/3. Maybe a little less. The inside of the door frame needs a similar "slimming" and the upper door frame needs to be squared off on the inside, to conform to the outside.

On the right side of the building, the rear corner needs to be defined, from below the roof to the top of that railing in the foreground. It's hard to tell where you are going with the porch roof and those two supporting posts at this point, but I'm sure you have that well in mind and in hand.

Everything else looks to be progressing well.

Al

Ron, Good job. I don't know much about relief carving, but I know what I like. I like this. When you take some more wood away from the water wheel and the "chute" they will jump out and really give the carving depth. I really like the rustic look that your carving has. I don't know if that look will still be there after more detail is added. But I do like what I see. Thanks Tom H
