Default Mill Detail Done

Hi everyone. I just finished the tree and bushes detail on the mill scene. All I need to do now I think is put finish on. it has been a very challenging project but was also great fun. Ready for the next challenge. Let me know what you think about finishes. i have never put finish on spanish cedar before so what would be good to use.
Ron

Ron, Never done a relief carving, but I am sure that I could never do one as nice as this one. When I first saw this carving I had an odd feeling. Now seeing the finished carving I understand why I had such an odd feeling. Your mill looks exactly like an old mill that was on my sister in laws property. It began falling down and I had to finish the job. Her mill was a grist mill, built in 1835. It was on the Chagrin River in Northern Ohio. I was able to salvage about 1000 board feet of one inch native growth poplar...I forwarded the photo of your mill to sister in law, and she feels the same as I do. Keep it up Ron. Your relief work is wonderful...Tom H

Ron,
Your work gets better and better. You have inspired me to turn out the lights and feel my relief work to see if I can work with different textures better. It sure works for you.
The finish really works in the photo image. I am very impressed with how your water actually looks like a reflective surface.
You should be very proud of that one.
Thor
