Default Memorial Trophy

When my artist friend died towards the end of last year his wife asked me if I could produce a memorial trophy for use in the film society to which he belonged.
He loved the work of M.C.Escher and one of his favourite quotations to his students was 'think outside the box'. With this information and a copy of Celtic Patterns by Lora Irish I came up with the design shown.
The base is turned american ash the top is yew. After sealing the work was polished with a beeswax /carnauba wax polish.
As always constructive criticism is welcome.

Very nice carving, and fits the requested subject well. Beautiful wood too.

Beautiful job.

Something from the heart is always some of the best work. Great combination and outstanding design.
