Carl,
I see the big crack in your mask. You need to replace it. If the same thing were to happen again that mask would never survive and then the flying piece is right in your face. That mask has earned it's retirement. please be safe and use the correct safety equipment. I know first hand. Safety equipment saved my eyes 20 some years ago. Bye the way I love the turning. That wood has a fantastic grain. I hope you get your tinder to burn.

Brian

I guess I should have called it a face shield. I reread the post and I sounded like I was scolding you. That isn't my desire. I'm just a big believer in safety equipment and hate to have anyone get hurt.

Hey Brian if there is any one thing I am an advocate for it is safety that face sheild was permanently retired the few minutes after it happend, I keep it as an example. No problem I think it would have been apropriate to scold me if I was still using that, I know I would scold my self. Thanks for ya concern, I always go with safety, better safe then sorry.

What wood are ya talking about the cococolo? or the black wood?

I think I might have gotten it figured out, finaly must be like try number 6 now maybe they ment the third times the charm after you have done three and taken a break so it would be number six. I looked all over the place and couldn't find any info on what sizes to make everything so I am doing trial and error.

Carl:
Here's some info that might help: (look at 7.75) Chapter 7 Problems

Especially notice the volume compression: 20:1 You could calculate the volume of your cylinder of air at the start and then again at the end to see if you have a ratio at least this much...
