I carved this little guy this morning, am kinda proud of him as he is the smallest little guy I have done to date. He is also the smallest guy I have put ears on, so a double first for me. I love these little guys..and when I pull out a handfull of these one inchers at carving club, the folks there like them too. I'm going to get some dockyard gouges, and possibly a dockyard knife as well. but I think this is about the lower limit I can go. Hope everybody has a great fourth of July!!!!

Looking good! What kind of tools do you use? I've been faltering at small pieces myself. and I can't seem to get a grip on the methods. TJ.

I don't know which I admire more, being able to carve these little guys or being able to paint them. You did a nice job on both Eric |

Nice job. Still don't see how some of you guys (gals) can carve that small. My hand cramps up to much if I try it.

Cool little dude! My fingers seem too big to go much smaller than a couple inches tall. Thanks for sharing and have a great 4th!

Rook...the only tools I use are a Butz detail knife, and I cut around the block to outline the neck with a 4mm V-Tool. I can hold onto one this size without much problems while wearing a glove and a thumb protector, I don't whittle them on a stick then cut off afterwards, but that is a way to hold on to small things that works pretty well.

Cute little guy ya carved there Slowmover! Still can't believe how small some of you carvers carve...I have enough difficulty carving 'normal' size carvings without attempting something that small...I'd have to get a more powerful magnifier lense too! Ha! Anywho, enjoyed him alot...Thanks for sharing him with us and here's hoping you and yours have a wonderful and safe 4th!!! Kenn
