Default Re: Learnin and Unlearnin

I added a few more layers of color.

Oh ... a couple of quick thoughts! I started by putting down a layer of tape along the edges of my burned design. Since the design is rectangular and I want to keep the crisp finish line the tape will protect the wood from color application. I can color right up to and over the tape and want is on the tape will peal off later.

Clear tape ... can I just say scotch tape ... is great for making corrections. Pull off a little piece, lightly drop it down over the mistake area. Use an ink pen to trace on top of the tape where the mistake is. When you peal up the tape the color under the ink pen lines comes with it.

And since you said you had a set of watercolor pencils Paul these last several layers have been done using my watercolor pencil set. They can be used dry and left dry. There is no reason to buy new when you already have a good set.

The close up shows that by keeping the work in light thin layers all of your wood burnig shows through.

Off to do a few more layers.

Susan
