| | Re: Last Ornament of the year! As usual, Another great ornament. Delieverd yours and Dave's this week end and Shaycee's mother said she had a big smile on her face face she said," For me". I told her mother that Sarah received one but the colors were change compared to Shaycee. Casey said, 'Different but the same" as those two girls are. Marci's ornament she posted today reminded me of the two girls, Two peas in a Pod.
Tahnks again and this is just as great as the others. You have lifted the bar for the rest of us. |

| | Re: Last Ornament of the year! Thank you Ken. Man one of the best parts of being on this board is the neat people that I have met, and also getting to be apart of encourging some one like Shaycee and Eric Williams with the little gifts that I have. It has really made my year, and made me think about how blessed I have been with my own children. Ya'll have a Merry and blessed Christmas!

| | Re: Last Ornament of the year! GaryMc, Just view your Bark carvings and ornaments in the Gallery. Way cool my friend. Love the bark spirits and your grandson's ornament. I had started a complete train set for my Grand son but did not get it done in time for this Christmas so he will have to wait till next Christmas. He will be able to put it under the tree or play with it. Man, That is two projects not completed before Christmas. the other wis a 10" fireman for my Fireman/paramedic son. He will be a little disappointed but will understand.
Merry CHRISTmas to you and your family and God's Blessings. |

| | Re: Last Ornament of the year! Thank you for the explantion on how you painted the beards. I've been doing some Santas out of a pattern I drew up. But after I painted them..they still looked drab. I will try that dark underneath method today and see what it looks like. Thanks again. Marci. |

| | dry brushing Mike I use the dry brushing on my carvings. The way that I do it is once the base color is dry and I want to add another color over it I use a stiffer flat brush and add some of the second color onto the brush I do not add water. Then I take a paper towel and stroke the brush a few times and almost take all of the paint off. The idea is not to cover your first coat but to enhance the let's say a leaf. Using the dry brushing you can blend the second color over the first coat and once you practice a few times and get the idea of using both colors to blend. Something like shading two colors. I have pictures on my home page if you would like to see what it looks like. Hope this helps.
