| | last commission of year finished! This is one of my boxes all done. I have no more commissions for the year and get to try to work on my own ideas now! I used gouache instead of gold leaf on it, and regret that now, but it looks ok. The design is not my own. It is a device of a medieval reenactor that I copied off of his shield. Thor |

| | Re: last commission of year finished! Wow! That is a real eye catcher and will certainly be the center point of whereever it sits.
Let's see... "Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning." ...Or, "Red sky at night, sailor's delight." I'm not sure if it's a sunrise or sunset but I'll vote for it being a sunset since we can always look forward to a nice day tomorrow.
But then again, if it's a sunrise then I suppose that we can look forward to a nice rainy day of carving inside sitting close to the wood heater.
Either way there's no way to lose! |

| | Re: last commission of year finished! Thanks all so much for your generous comments. It will be picked up tomorrow so I do hope she'll like it. It's for the landed Baron in a medieval group, so it will be displayed in the Baronial Court when he presides. The design was copied off of a very worn shield he used in medieval marshal combat.
Dave, I have no idea whether it is sunrise or sunset. It never occurred to me to ask. I will now as it suddenly seems important.
I am enjoying not having a due-date for now.
