| | Kingly WS I finished another woodspirit with the horse chesnut. People who have seen it say he has a kingly look to him. I plan to try my hand at putting a male and female on the same length of log for my next project.

| | Re: Kingly WS Great face Irishman, he does have a regal look about him! You are getting pretty darn good at those! Keep up the good work. Maybe carve a crown on the next one, and make him a real king!

Constructive suggestion, Try and animal or and Eagle in your log carvings.

I like it! | Ken, I'm still trying to hone my skills doing WS but I may be getting too comfortable so who knows - perhaps I'll make the leap and you'll see a posting of an animal of some sort down the road on one of my logs.
I would like to try a crown on this latest carving based on all the feedback but I'm not brave enough to try...yet. Please share a picture of a crowned woodspirit and I may be tempted.

| | Re: Kingly WS Patrick, I havn't carved a WS with a crown but the little bride crowns me most days with her "dang club"
Really, I understand comfort zones as I try to stay with mine also. Once in a while, I will attempt something different.
What I have seen of yopurs so far are great carvings. |

What I have seen of yopurs so far are great carvings. | Kenny, I got brave and came out of my comfort zone, and started to put crowns on a a female and male woodspirit I am completing on the same length of wood. I received some feedback from my daughter and she said I needed to put some hair on the female WS. It's great having a constructive critic...however, I don't have enough wood remaining to consider putting hair onto the carvings. I'll post the finished product hopefully before the long weekend.
