| | King tut and King Cobra Just finished these two sticks, something a little different. Carved a dung beetle and pyramids on the sticks and then traced the nile river down the length of them.

| | Re: King tut and King Cobra Interesting subject matter and nicely done. May I ask what the inspiration was for this theme?
Also, what did you use for the gold?
Great beetle too.

| | Re: King tut and King Cobra Thor, I used a gold gilt paint from a spray can, and the inspiration for them was an order from a good customer. Grin, I downloaded information from the internet, on King Tut and the objects used in that era. |

| | Re: King tut and King Cobra Well, All I will say is great carvings Hugh!
What was the brand name of the gold glit?
I have something that needs gold but do not like any of the gold paint I have seen so far. No it isn't a carving but is made out of wood. |

| | Re: King tut and King Cobra Kenny, the gold glit is out to my shop, will get the brand name in the morning and post it. After painting the cobra with the gold glit, It was washed with the main colour on the back of the head, burnt umber, raw umber, lightened with yellow ochre. Very light watery washes. |

| | Re: King tut and King Cobra I go to an awful lot of trouble to gold leaf things, and I don't think they look any better than that gold paint. Hmmmm.
I'll be curious about that brand as well. I won't stop gilding, it's fun too, but I will consider that paint when it's just a touch here and there.
It sure looks good.
The new pics of the snake make it even more obvious what a fine stick that is.
