| | Just A Little Pinch! Here's the head! Don't know if I'm completely satisfied with it. Will have to wait to see how it matches up with the body to get the complete picture. Trying to get the figure done before the Wichita show next weekend. Got the body all blocked out and will hopefully finish it up late today or tomorrow. Will then build up a mock-up of the barn side and stall door to see how he looks in that setting. Depending on how that looks will then start the horse. |

| | Re: Just A Little Pinch! Lynn, From the looks of that cheek he's got at least 2 cans of Snuff, or 1/2 pack of Levi Garritt in there. Great job. Tom H |

| | Re: Just A Little Pinch! lynn,
Another fine cowpoke!
earlier discussions made me lead to believe he would be morbedly distorted around the chaw but you pulled it off nicely lynn
ala, i come to the conclusion that lynn must have an infestation of bored elves in his shop and finding noithing else to do in his shop at night they take over when he leaves out his knives and drawings...
THATS HOW HE GETS THEM DONE SO FAST. |

I lived in KY for 7 years, a lot of that disgusting chewing went on there. Looking at people doing that made me gag every time.

| | Re: Just A Little Pinch! Regarding the spittal drip.......I had thought about that but even in caricature you have to be careful about being too tasteless. A lot of caricature carvers carve in what I call the "Mad Magazine" style, i.e., gross, tasteless, or having no respect for the figure itself. I try to stay away from that kind of expression. You can be amusing but still have respect for the piece. No need to make fun of the fella'. |

| | Re: Just A Little Pinch! Yes, don't get gross with him. But maybe a small dribble on the ground directly under his chin, or a patch of YUK! where he (or the horse) spit? Nothing too graphic.
Or maybe the horse doesn't have any yet, and is trying to get the pouch/can from the cowboy's hand, and is drooling after it?
Yeah, okay, I'll shut up now. |
