Default Just Finished Bulegill

I just finished a bluegill in walnut. And put it as my avator. Diamond Willow wanted to see a bigger picture of it so here it is.

Very nice fish, Gergie. May I suggest you darken the dowel rod the fish is attached to. It really shows up in the pictures. I love the beautiful walnut finish.

I agree with joy, either darken the dowel, or better yet, how about a piece of clear plastic dowel?

Thanks for the the nice comments and suggestion. I've never heard of the clear dowels, can you get them at a hobby shop?

As you work on more fish, you might want to have the fish touch your habitat and then you won't have any dowel showing at all. A nice rock or branch sitting up and then just touch your fishes body or tail or underside of his head to the rock makes a nice mount, or mount him so the branch runs on the back side of him and just use a dowel or square stock or screw to fasten him to the branch. Give it a try on your next one. If I can be of any further help just let me know.
