Hey, Dave so glad you came back for another look. Geez it was February when I started this one. I remember it sat on the stand tormenting me. I had reached a point to where I really didn't know if I could finish it. Then I said it's 'cure it, or kill it' time. I've let others be the judge as to the out come. LOL
I really do like this all silly looking Indian, who's name is now 'Old Rain In The Face' thanks to Ed Redwine a member of this board.
I apply a lot of my years of painting on canvas to painting on wood. The whole idea which you saw is to make everything unify and be pleasing to the eye. It's the way I was taught in class/workshops and learned from books.
Thanks again,
Kathy

Hi Mark and Mel, Mark if you see this post again I have a question. First of all thank you, for your nice compliment.
My question: What consitutes a carving being a mask? Is it because it isn't carved totally in the round? Pierced? This carving is mostly flat on the backside, but totally carved on the front side. Or could it even be considered a relief carving? I didn't do any piercing. Any thoughts?

Mel, hey Pal---2 years? I thought I was slow...LOL

Thanks guys,
Kathy
