Default Hugh Hefner - done

Well here it is. Hugh Hefner or somebody. It was the best I could do. I'm not cut out to do humans. Its hard for me to see it as others might I think since I've looked at it for so very long. So honest opinions of if it looks anything at all like him or not are welcome.

wow, very nice one. portraits with being likeli to the person portrait are soooo difficult. and i can recognise him easily, by comparing the fotos you gave. i like how you captured the folds near his jaw bone, and the smiling folds, very nice. this sure is important feature of him... the only very little thing i noticed, and i mention only since you ask for honest critique, is that in the front view foto of your carving the eyes seem a tad bit too high, and from side view a tad bit flat. BUT that might be a distortion from the camera lens, and most probably is given the angles the lines of the base are on those fotos. wish i could take your carving in hand.... yes, all i want say, i think it is a wonderful portrait, you made him look really alive. well done :-) how you come carve portrait of hugh hefner ? are you in his family ? or is this a job carving ? (please ignore this question, if it is impolite...)

Doris, thank you for the critique. i appreciate it. I agree with you on the eyes, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I am not very happy with the eyes. It does look better than the photos but you are still correct in your assessment I think. It is a job carving. nope no relation

The likeness looks pretty good to me so congradulations on, like you said, a very difficult task to achieve.

The only suggestion that I could offer is perhaps adding a couple of playboy bunnies next to ole Hugh since I've never seen him any other way.

MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.
