Great job Doris! I don't know if your carving is of an actual person, but it looks so life like you expect his eyes to open! Super work. J B

Doris,
That is one awesome carving. He really does look so real. He looks so deep in thought - what a great expression. Truly awesome work of art. Really like the progress pics too.

Doris,

Very Very nice, love the detail on the bridge of the nose, many times I just gouge straight up through to the forehead, your pic has given me a better understanding and realistic look, thanks so much. Bill

so wonderful to listen to all of you and learn how and what you see in my carving, this is great :-) ... as to the question arose, yes this person exists, is a friend of mine, who allowed me to take pictures from him to have reference fotos to work from. i strived for some resemblance, but purposedly changed some features to fit into what i wanted express. he was fine with that idea. ... thank you all for looking and commenting.

Doris,
Beautiful carving! You really made a huge progress.
You also answered my question - I was wondering if you had a model, your friend must be very pleased with the outcome.

Doris,
This is a wonderful piece of work! Anyone would be thrilled to have carved something that well. He is extremely well done, you should be proud of your work.
