Default Hereward The Wake

This character is based on an English hero of the time of the Norman invasion in 1066. Hereward The Wake fought the Norman invaders like the original Robin Hood, and was regarded as a true hero of the early English. A friend in England sent me a picture of him and I based the portrait on his likeness. Done in Butternut, it measures about 4" tall.

Hi Bob,

Well done,I am very impressed.
Being from Australia, have never used butternut. How does it carve and hold detail and what type of finish do you use on it.

Great carving,
regards,
Schaf

Nice job Bob. He has a great look, and the black background really makes the face stand out.
