| | Guess What? Yes another tree carving I know this is old hat but I have just stated another tree carving. This one is a willow that broke completly in some pretty brutal weather we had last week. This carving will be pretty involved. The stump is about 10 feet tall and about 3 feet in diameter. The complete inside of the tree is gone eaten away by insects. I have started with large carving,(pictures below) roughed out. There will be two smaller spirits in his mostache. Above his head to the right as you look at is will be a smaller spirit. On the other side of the carving will be a women spirit. When I was carving I noticed that one of the roots was sticking up though the ground so I have started to carve a small spirit in the root. I hope to finish the large spirit tomorrow and at least rough in the woman spirit. I will update as I go so you can see the progress.

Oh no another dood one lost to Darth Hugger!
I like the way you have done this one Colin. Lots of little surprises in this one and the root spirit is a great touch.

| | Re: Guess What? Yes another tree carving I don't recall ever seeing one of your female wood spirits Colin. I like the idea of carving out the root. Its going to be quite a "stomp" when your finished. Keep the photos coming.

Very unique with the spirits in the moustache. That one is going to be awesome when you get done. But of course, we knew that cuz you are carving it. Keep those pics coming. I really enjoy seeing your spirits come to life.

| | Re: Guess What? Yes another tree carving Another update although I posted the lady I carved on another thread. The customer wanted a smaller woodspirit on the upper part of the stump. Here are some pictures of the smaller spirit and the large spirit just about finished. Who know's when I get back on monday he may just want some more carvings. It seems everyday I start he decides he wants more. I actually think that the carving is too busy but you know the old saying "the customer is always right" and when it is his money he is.
