When my friend refurbished an old oak fireplace she asked me to carve a heraldic griffin, part of the family coat of arms, to form part of the design.
Strictly speaking it is a
griffin passant, not ducally gorged. Its just the sort of thing to take on holiday where I can finish it in the French mountains. That is if I can tear myself away from the volcanos of the Ardeche, my grandson and the village bar. So far the background has been routed back and stopcuts have been made round the design. The rest can wait a bit
