If I did a carving that good, I probaby be worried to ruin him with the paint...however, I know you'll do it justice. His eye appears to be looking right at you.

Bird carver, you've really nailed the carving part. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Wow that heron looks great, looks like he caught me laying out a roll cast for that big brookie at the head of the pool.

Nice job on the Heron. It looks just like the one that would fly in and perch on the side of a canoe where we were staying in Fla this Christmas. It came every night around eight in the evening to fish. We got several pictures of it although they're kind of hard to see because of the darkness and the flash of the camera.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments on my carving. I am adding more to the scene such as water, lily pads, and a turtle. Here are some pictures of some of the Items. Bird carver

Birdcarver, that is one beautiful carving, you sure did a fine job on the detail. It is really a challenge now to paint it. Personally I would be afraid I mess it up. I've only ever seen one of these beauties in the real here in Ontario Canada, he used to come to our pond every day for a snack. He was something to see for sure. Thanks for showing him, I've been following your progress, you've come a long way.
