Default Giraffe for babys room

Our youngest daughter is expecting and her time is drawing near. She has the babys room all painted and the crib and dresser are in place, and she has a quilt on the crib for the rooms theme. The theme is suitable for a boy or girl and we will just have to await the big day to find out which it shall be. That theme is wild animals, in a characture sort of style, and she asked me if I could carve a giraffe to match to set on the babys dresser. Well, how can you say no to an expecting daughter!

This little giraffe is carved in Basswood and painted with acrylice, sealed with Krylon spray. It stands about 10" tall and is just as cute as the dickens!

Hope the baby likes it!

Bob

That is one fine carving for a babys room .. I love the simple way you carved and painted him .. That baby will appreciate someday what grandpa is doing and want more before you know it

Great job! I really like the way you painted it. I don't know a baby/toddler who wouldn't like it.

It looks great now, but in a coule of years it will have a lot more character with the teeth marks on it...congratulations on both the carving and the grandchild.
