Default Getting Ready For The Dog Watch!

Another swabbie! I made this one for a friend that I used to work with. I like to make his day every now and then. Like myself he was Navy in Vietnam. It's 1.5" x 1.5" x 6" basswood, acrylic paint, with a matt polyurethane finish. The hat was carved separate from the body and glued on with Titebond II.

Nice carving, Eddy - is it the first dog or the second dog? I usually preferred second dog, as the dinner was usually hotter and had a better selection.

That's a grubby fine sailor man you have there. Good work. Also appreciate your service to country during the 'Nam era. My own dad served on a Navy destroyer during WWII. Thanks for posting one fine project!

EDDY-Great Swabbie. My Dad would have enjoyed that, served on Heavy Cruiser in pacific. Have a picture of him with hula girl in grass skirt only,at least he seemed happy that one day.
