| | Re: Gave myself a hernia Thank you so much everyone,,such wonderful compliments,,,WOW!
I started sanding the leaves ( letting the trunks and branches remain chiseled) and the contrast is really nice I believe, though my thumb feels a bit tender right now.Just doing a light scuff with 220 but it's enough to make a difference.I'll finish them off with a quick pass with a V tool to add some fine veins. Doing that last will keep them clean and crisp.
Yeah Chuck,,you will be a day late,,,they're supposed to go the end of the week. I'll see if I can't hold them till Mon...what's the cabinet shop going to do with them over the weekend anyway,,,I'll see what I can do.
I've said it before and I'll say it again,,,whoever wants to come you're more than welcome ( don't be surprised though if I put you to work)
Thanks again everyone,,glad you like looking at these things. |

| | Re: Gave myself a hernia No need to hold em up on my account Mark, though I appreciate the thought. You do what needs to be done and if they're gone I'll be happy having seen the pics and will get to help you out without getting distracted by such amazing beauty. ;-)

| | Re: Gave myself a hernia What wonderful work Mark. It would be great to work with someone as talented as yourself except you might have to spend all your time watching out for hillbillies and cowboys behind every leaf ;O)). I do OK on caricatures but they are on the other side of the universe from the beauty you create.
Congratulations on an outstanding project and thanks for sharing it with us!

| | Re: Gave myself a hernia Mark...........GOLLY what a beautiful job you've done. Your signature on this piece will be honored for decades to come. Don't have to tell you to stand tall, you've been putting out "art" (I mean well) for years, obviously. |

| | Re: Gave myself a hernia Thank you Fred,,that's quite a compliment. Ironically I am doing my kitchen over,,and one of these will not appear! I do have other ideas though,,just not as grand,,,a case of the "shoemakers kids" syndrome.
Xsailer,,my craft is trying to produce art,,,and art is what I try to craft,,,as long as it all works I'm a happy camper. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
