| | Re: Foreclosure - Poor Tex! Daddio.....I sure wood. There is just no way you can do a carving with poses like that without using attached wood and be fair to your customers should you decide to sell something. I build my figures to stand the test of time by being as "break resistant" as possible and having a fragile piece of cross grained wood sticking out somewhere just doesn't allow that. I would suggest that you make the joint at a point that it can be disguised by clothing. I do that by ensuring that the arm meets the body at the vest. Doing it that way makes any joint almost completely disappear. |

| | Re: Foreclosure - Poor Tex! He's looking like he just got a Dear John letter. The tears look great and I can see the sadness is going clear thru him. Nice job on both the carving and painting. Thanks for sharing and can hardly wait to see the rest of him.

| | Re: Foreclosure - Poor Tex! Lynn, Your a fantastic carver and true artist! The facial color layout is amazing, my eyes are drawn right to your guys eyes, seeing the tears dripping down & angled eyes. I believe what draws me to them is how you blended the lower lids color to fall in line with the nose color. The nose captures your attention and then I'm drwan up to the eyes because you mapped out my out my viewing attention to take me up to the eyes with the flow of the same color from the nose. GREAT JOB. Bill | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
