| | Re: "Foreclosure Notice!" Carving Complete! Another great carving Lynn. I can imagine the long sad look on his face. I agree with Al also you put so much into each peice they each tell a story. That's one thing I missed at the Wichita show was your's. I was looking forward to feeling the detail and craftsmanship of your work. But maybe someday.

| | Re: "Foreclosure Notice!" Carving Complete! Archie/Bill...I really appreciate those observations. Like a painting, sculpture or carving in this instance, should tell a story. I think there are way, way to many pieces of figures just standing there. Sure, they may be dressed in cowboy duds, Santa outfits, whatever, but they just stand there not doing nothing. Had the carver taken just a little extra effort they could put a story behind the figure that lets the viewers mind wander and wonder. That's what I like to do. |

I think you're right, the scene really makes your characters come alive. That and your attention to detail. Great work!

| | Re: "Foreclosure Notice!" Carving Complete! Shimmy....Thanks for the comment. Book????? What's wrong with my Blog? Show me a book where you could find that much information at no cost to you!! Maybe someday I'll put together something that will show the carvings I've done over the years but an instructional book is not on the calendar. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
